USEF Rule: Anyone mounted on a horse must wear protective headgear except those riders age 18 and over while on horses that are competing only in FEI levels and tests at the
Prix St. Georges level and above

Presidents Message
Our first meeting after the summer break proved to be
a nice get-together. The meeting was dynamic, with
new ideas for clinics discussed and the always difficult--when to do them!
Events in the near future:
Oct 18-19th will be the last horse trials held at Grass
Ridge Farm in Sonoita. A group of folks is forming to try
to find and implement a venue to continue Eventing
opportunities in Southern Az. Please see Terri Renwick
or Jana Flagler if you would like to help out.
Nov 1st: Our show! 9AM Rockin JP Ranch in Palominas.
If you aren't showing drop by to cheer your fellow
members on! Entry forms are on our web site:

Nov 1st: 6:00PM Yoga Retreat, followed by a BBQ and
Bonfire Yoga geared toward riders.
Nov 2nd: 9:00AM Yoga Retreat followed by a light
brunch. Contact Cindy for details
Nov 8th: Care For the Horses Horse Expo at the SV
Riding Club---CD&EA will have an informational table.

ELECTIONS: Are coming up in Nov. Let us know if you
would like to run for an office.

Meeting Minutes Sept 25, 2014

1. Meeting Called to order - @ 1830,


Ricardos. In attendance were Cindy Normandeau,
Char Blodgett, Yvonne Ohlensehlen, Carissa
Hernandez, Sharon and Christy Olthof, Bonnie
Coerper, Joann Thoming, Teri and John Renwick.
2. Introduction of guests There were
none present
3. Minutes from last meeting minutes
were sent out to membership in the last newsletter.
Motion was made to approve the minutes as
published, all approved.
4. Presidents Report/Comments Gave
report on DeSpooking Clinic, very well attended and
everyone had a good time. Do we want to do this
again and would we want to charge? Will discuss at
later meeting.
4. Secretary Report/Correspondence
Nothing to report.
5. Treasurers Report - Have $1226.36 in
account. Have a few outstanding receipts from
Meet and Greet, Char and Bonnie would settle up
after the meeting.
6. Committee Reports:
a. Show 2015 dates? Report by the
Olthofs. Haven't been able to get together with
Dede, so will table for later. Dede and Olthofs don't
want to run the show next year.
Bonnie volunteered to do one. Will put out
in newsletter to seek someone to run the second
show.
b. Newsletter waiting till after meeting to
put together. Discussion on whether we need to
print any newsletters due to costs. Was decided no
necessary to, just print out for one member and
mail.
Discussion on what to advertise and where,
need to post on Facebook pages for Cochise County
Equestrian Group, Cochise Dressage and Eventing
association our show dates and activities.
Carissa will make up an advertisement with
tear offs with our web address to hang around at
feed shops, etc.
c. Membership Joann Thoming No new
members since last meeting. USDF dues Nov 30,
need to send in early so can be eligible for
publications. Will require membership need to have
dues in by Nov 1. $30 and $15. Will announce in
Newsletter about the change in dues and vote it in
Oct. and retroactive it. Need a vote. Send dues to
Charlotte.

d. Community Outreach Eileen Swiers e-mailed


Cindy that she has posted meeting dates around town. And
also if somebody wants to trail ride she would organize a ride
at Fairbanks.
e. Web page Aimee Arnold - Finally got account
changed over and we own the domain. Alongside of the club
name there needs to be a persons name. Aimee also
expressed she would like to step down from this position next
year so she could concentrate on other issues. Will put out in
newsletter.
8. Unfinished Business
a. Meet & Greet - Table discussion for next years for
next month
b. No other unfinished business
9. New Business
a. Dues done
b. Grass Ridge use of our dressage arena - Teri
made a motion that Area 10 be able to use our Dressage
arena. Teri will take it over and they would like to have it set
up on Thursday and she will bring it back. Need volunteers to
set up and take down. Motion was all approved.
c. Care for the Horses Expo Nov 8 at Sierra Vista
Saddle Club - We will support. Cindy would like us to be there
as they came to our Meet and Greet. She will be promoting
her Welsh Cobs. Motion to pay for a table at this venue.
Approved $15 and need volunteers.
d. Bio dynamics of Moving Horse Dr Leverenz. Will
be speaking in Tucson, however this is during Grass Ridge and
Cindy contacted her and she is willing to come and speak.
Discussion to have this at Teri's. A motion was made to have
it there and approved Cindy will take care of the details and
run it. Still to determine a date.
Aimee made a motion to have everyone look at their
calendars and decide on a date in January at next meeting.
e. USDF Convention Proxy vote. The conference in
in Massachusetts this year. Does anyone wants to go?
Scarlett from Sonita was given our proxy and she will vote for
us. Next years conference will be in Las Vegas, so a few
members are thinking of going.
f. Aimee went to Rockin JP walking the facilities for a
cross country course. Most of the jumps are bad and need
new ones. The ground is in good shape, no holes or hazards.
The banks need work. Need 50 acres for a sanctioned event,
there is only 40, however the owner is amiable to extending
some other ground to accommodate the 50A.
