Genre: Narrative Nonfiction
Key characteristics of Narrative Nonfiction include: -Tells about real people, places, and events. Unlike other information text, it uses story form to describe true experiences and sequence of real events. -May tell the story of a region's economic, presenting facts about ways people hear and use money. -It usually expresses the author's point of view, or perspective, through a particular voice or tone. -Sequence is one type of text structure, or what the authors
organize ideas in a selection. Sequence refers to a series of steps
or events placed in time order. -To think about sequence in informational text, you should look for steps that occur over time. Ask: -What happens first? Next? What then? Finally? Identifying the steps in the sequence can help you understand how the outcome was achieved and what the author's message is. -For extra practice, refer to Practice Workbook pages 123-125.
