Technology to Support Communication

The classroom of technology will be experiencing the use of several tools for
communication with parents, students, and the global community. We as a global community
need to learn more from each other. We all need to be better acquainted with the internet.
Communication tools that will be experienced will be Google Blogs, Remind 101, Web 2.0, and
parents.
Technology to Enhance Communication
Google Blogs are excellent to use for a communication tool because of its enormous
user base, ease of use, free access, and privacy features. The results of this tool indicates that
after the module, participants felt more comfortable integrating an online tool such as Google
Blogs to promote interactive learning communities. (Beatty, Mia 2013-04-23)
Parents:
Parents can learn what their children are doing and learn from their children.
Students:
Students can learn what Google Blogs have to offer and to learn security.
Global Community:
The Google Blogs can help the next teacher and student to learn from others and to pass
on the knowledge the Blogs give.
Remind 101 is what we need every day. Today's students are digitally literate. While it
is possible to manually send text messages to students, the process is cumbersome and involves

the students giving the instructor their mobile phone number, which can lead to privacy issues.
(Bobbitt, R., Inman, R., & Bertrand, E., 57(4), 77-78.)
Parents:
Parents need to be more aware of what the student of today are doing and learning on text
messages, and emails.
Students:
Students of today need to have responsibility for their actions and learn accordingly to the
safety and security of the internet.
Global Community:
The Global Community needs to be made aware of the situation and pass it on to their
students and the other communities in each country.
Web 2.0 builds classroom community, offers accessibility reaches marginalized
students. Web 2.0 technologies offer ways to foster community-building via classroom blogs
and wikis, allow students to access online information and provide opportunities to
communicate. (Coombs, D., Leite, J., & Grierson, S. (2010), 59(2), 14-18.)
Parents:
Parents can take an active role in the parenting and leadership for their children.
Students:
Students need to be more aware and follow the leadership of their parents.

Global Community:
Our global community will respond favorably to the new found leadership of our
families.
Parents are the key to the development of the students, their children. Parents know their
children better than anyone or they should. The importance of parent involvement in Parents
who monitor their student's schoolwork and daily activities, communicate frequently with
teachers and help develop schools and its relationship to student achievement have been widely
studied. (Olmstead, C. (2013), 57(6), 28-37).
Parents:
Parents, parents, and parents are the key to keeping things straight for their children.
Students:
Students should be made aware and not get the defensive attitude towards what they are
doing.
Global Community:
Global communities should be made aware of the predators and continue to safeguard
their children.
Internet Safety and security in communication is to select a group texting tool, which
students can choose to opt-in if they wish to receive messages from the faculty member via SMS.
This type of service can build the bridge between teacher to student communication and allows
them to stay connected no matter which devices(s) they are using. (Coombs, D., Leite, J., &

Grierson, S. (2010), 59(2), 14-18.) As schools invest in websites, phone calling systems, parent
portals, online curriculum, and other types of technologies that connect schools to home,
research needs to continue to focus on the effectiveness of these technologies to increase parent
involvement. (Olmstead, C. (2013), 57(6), 28-37)
In conclusion, the teacher, student, and parent needs to be vigilant in the safety and
security of the internet safety and security. Be experimental with Google Blogs, Remind 101,
Web 2.0 and Parents. We all need to work together for the progress of our children.
