medieval Europe with 90 percent effectiveness. Students will be able to differentiate between Roman
Catholicism and Eastern Orthodoxy with 95 percent effectiveness.
Formative Assessment: For formative assessment in the lesson I will ask questions during the lessons
where they will write the question down and answer it. By the end of the unit I will pick it up for a daily
grade.
Summative Assessment: There will be three different summative assessments during the 3 day lesson
plan. A pop quiz, notes, and a discussion will be the way to find out if they learned anything from the
lesson.

II. LESSON BODY

INTRODUCTION: The first day of the lessons I will introduce the subject of religion in mediaeval
Europe by reviewing with the students of what they learned earlier about religion in the West Rome
Empire. Day two I will introduce the other Christian religion located in the eastern part of Europe at the
time. Day three the students will get chance to ask questions about the last two days information before
they do their own classroom discussion.
TEACHING PROCEDURES:
Day one: introduce the subject of religion in mediaeval Europe by reviewing with the students of what
they learned earlier about religion in the West Roman Empire. After review go in into the different fields
of how religion affected each part of society. (Government, power, land, armies, and beliefs) The way
the lesson will be taught is by lecture of using a presentation will pictures and information. The closure
of the day will be a small review over the information over how religion was powerful during the
medieval ages in Europe. (Note: students need to take notes because it will be a daily grade that is due
after day three.)
Day two: Introduce the other Christian religion located in the eastern part of Europe at the time. After the
introduction student will watch a video that I had created that that will teach them the differences and
simliaries of the two Christian religions. The students will take notes over the video. After the video
there will be a pop quiz over the material they learned in the past two days. The pop quiz will be the
closure of the day two.
Day three: Students will get chance to ask questions about the last two days information before they do
their own classroom discussion over the topic of either subjects. Students will be then make a circle and
start the classroom room discussion. As the teacher I will place myself right outside the circle and will
give a check mark for all the students that participated in the discussion. Note the student know that for
them to get a grade for the discussion they have to participate. After the 25 minutes of discussion the
students will go back to their seats and write a short summary of what they learned in the past three day.
At the end of class the students will turn in their summary and their notes for a grade.

CLOSURE: Day one closure for the students will be a small review over the information over how
religion was powerful during the medieval ages in Europe. Day two each student will have to write a
short summary of the similarities and differences of Roman Catholic Church and Eastern Orthodoxy
Church. Day three closure is another review over the discussion the students had during the class.

III. LESSON ESSENTIALS

DIFFERENTIATED LEARNING ACTIVITIES: With in my fives class I have two periods with
students that have poor eye sight, two period with 4 students having moderate hearing problems and one
period that has not students will any problems.
Day One: For the students with hearing problem I will pre-record my lecture onto an I-pod that way they
can hear the lecture as I go along. The students will poor eye sight I will print the notes out for them and
have them just add information to the notes based on what Im saying in the lecture.
Day Two: The students will any of my students whether they have hearing problems or poor eye sight I
will have the video pre-loaded onto a COW (Computer on wheels) that way they can see the material
better and hear it better.
Day Three: Group students with hearing problems with students that have high levels of intelligent to
explain what the group is saying that way they know what is going on.
INSTRUCTIONAL RESOURCES, MATERIALS AND TECHNOLOGY: Paper, pencils, pens,
computers, and I-pods will be the primary materials that the lesson will use. In instructional resources I
will use a PowerPoint presentation and a video I created to teach the two lessons on day one and two.

IV. POST-LESSON REFLECTION:

ANALYSIS OF STUDENT LEARNING: From what I saw in the learning I believe it was rather
effective. They were able to get all the concepts and were able to understand everything rather well. The
discussion was pretty great to the students had a lot of well thought out questions and the people who

answered the questions had awesome answers. The pop quiz I have went over okay the average grade
was a 85 which is pretty good. Overall, I was rather happy with the results of the lessons.

ANALYSIS OF TEACHING: On analysis of my teaching I believe I did the best of my abilities to teach
them effective. The modifications for the students went over every well for the students with eye sight
problems and hearing problems. They were able to hear the lesson and see the lesson which helped them
out. The lecture was effective but I think next year the video should be something different because the
students werent enjoying it that much. The discussion was great no changes in that area because the
students enjoyed the class and learned from each other.
