Describe Artifact:
My artifact is my Weebly website. This website is an advanced online resume that really allows
us to show more of who we are and what we have to offer. This is something that is mandatory
for all Health and Human Performance majors. The weebly website really allows us to test our
knowledge on what we have learned through our course work and how we can relate it back to
the real world. The weebly website is then reviewed and has to be presented in front of 2-3
professors in our department and requirement have to be met before moving on in further
courses.
UW-Platteville Health Promotion Standard Alignment:
The health promotion standard that this artifact aligns with is Standard 7. Reflection: The
health promoter is a reflective practitioner who continually evaluates the effect of his/her
choices and actions on others (clients, volunteers and other professionals in the health
promotion community) and who actively seeks out opportunities to grow professionally. This
artifact aligns with Standard 7 because being a health promotion specialist I must always be
seeking ways to grow professionally. Through the creating process of the weebly we are
constantly reflecting on what we have done in the past and how it has helped up grow or become
a better health promotion specialist. We are always looking for more opportunities to show our
knowledge and be able to sell ourselves to others.
UW-Platteville School of Health/Education Knowledge, Skill, Disposition Statement Alignment:
My artifact aligns with Domain 5: Grows and develops professionally KSD4.e. The candidate is
aware of opportunities for professional development to improve content knowledge and
pedagogical skill and can take an active role in assisting other educators. I chose this KSD
because since the Weebly website became mandatory for Health and Human Performance
majors, we have had to express our knowledge and professional skills on the website. I have to
always be looking out for new ways and opportunities that will better sell myself to the
population and why they should choose me. The Weebly website also allows for other students
to look at my work and what I have done to better educate themselves and evaluate their
knowledge.
What you learned about Health Promotion from this experience:

From this artifact, I learned that in order to get to where I want to be I must continue to put
myself in situations that I will learn. I must always be improving my knowledge on exercise and
health as it will put me ahead of my peers. I also learned the importance of communication and
professionalism. On our Weebly website I am promoting myself through our experiences and
knowledge, being able to show that my skills in communication and professionalism are superior
to our peers will give me more job opportunities.
Explain what you learned about yourself as a prospective Health Promotion specialist as a result
of this experience:
What I learned as a health promotion specialist is how important it is to stay ahead. This
experience has allowed to me to see that in order to be where I want to be I must go out and do it.
From expressing why I am superior to my peers on my Weebly account has really help me
understand my knowledge and comprehension on health and fitness. I must always be trying to
improve my skills as well as being able to apply them and understand them. Being proficient at
this will leave me no limits as a health promoter.
