**Growth: Please list how your knowledge and skills listed above, have grown as a result of
your student teaching experiences.

I believe that I have been able to observe childrens developmental level and take in
what I have seen to create activities that are appropriate for them while still being able to
stay engaged with the children.
I can say the same for the DRDPs. I can now point out the DRDPs more easily and I
have noticed how a lot of the times as I was doing my activities a lot of DRDP measures
were being brought up to my attention.
I can now see how play allows children to learn and grow through varies play activities
and child interactions.
Because the classroom I am in is a state program, I have been able to get familiar with
their health and safety procedures. I know where to store their cleaning products and
what to be done before and after they have eaten lunch.

**Beliefs: How has completing the above assignments influenced your beliefs about what
constitutes high quality care and education?
Through my observations I can now determine a childs developmental stage which allows me to
believe that it takes a teachers attention and interaction to really know where a child is at. The
DRDPs help evaluate where a child is at in their development which leads me to believe that this
tool, even though it can be a handful, is a good way to determine a childs growth. The
importance of play has shaped my belief on how important it is to create an environment that
encourages play with a variety of materials and peers. Lastly, the Title 22 Health and Safety
regulations have shaped my belief that to ensure childrens safety and health, all regulations
should be followed.

**Future Growth & Next Steps:

Think about your future teaching, list three goals to help you improve upon your existing
knowledge and skills and your teaching.
1. Building my skills of observation even with all the commotion around me
2. Build on recognizing more health and safety regulations making it a part of my daily
routine
3. Build my knowledge on the importance of play by providing new and creative ways to
play
Identify how you will achieve each of these three goals. Be specific. For instance, will you
enroll in a course? If so, what course? Will you read a book? What book?
I will achieve each of these goals as I continue my mentorship and as I become a teacher. I will
also be able re-read a lot of my earlier text books from previous classes to keep my mind

refreshed but also finding new books to keep up with the latest information. The two text books
for this current class are great tools to keep in hand in case I need to refer back to a particular
subject.
