Course Title: Grammar

Grade: 7th

Unit: I

Specific Topic: Greeting and Subject Pronouns

Competence: Understands what kind of communication is used to greet people wherever he/she
goes, learning a list of useful greeting. Knows the subject pronouns to use them in the future, to
conjugate all the verbs, he/she will use in real conversation.

Rationale: The first verbal communication, between individual of two different languages, is really
important. We all need to start a conversation, using greetings. / To start learning a new language
will certainly require the study of the Subject pronouns.

Lesson Content: Introduce themselves-present the new topics-practice- a class competitions.

Instructional Procedures
a. Warm-up. Ask students to introduce themselves, saying also a greeting. We will do
an activity called the spider web.
b. Teaching procedures:
Presentation:
a. Activate prior knowledge: with the list of useful greetings that each student has,
they may write the Spanish word for the words they already know.
b. Establish structure: Ss learn how to say and spell the new words. / Ss learn the
Subject Pronouns
c. Check up: T verifies if they understood.
Controlled practice: Using cards with the greetings, T gives the description of certain
greeting and Ss say the greeting used in that situation. / T points the image of certain
Subject Pronoun and Ss show the card (do not say the answer) with the correct
Subject Pronoun.
Semi controlled practice: Complete the worksheet.
Free practice: In pairs, Ss will practice greetings and have small conversations. They
will change partner after a minute and they will use greeting that can be use to say

c. Closure: The class will be divided into two groups. They must create 2 dialogues and
order all the Subject Pronouns in just one minute, the group that finishes first will
win. Ss will use flash cards for this exercise. They will be given paper and markers.
d. Feedback: An audio. Ss must identify all the Subject Pronouns and the greeting.
e. Formative/ Summative check: Formative during most of the class, except for the
semi-controlled practice and the homework, where I will use summative check.
f. Student Participation: Introducing themselves, creating conversations, and
answering T questions.
g. Homework: use the greetings and create 2 small conversations.

Evaluation Procedures: I will use the Formative check in the controlled practice, free practice, in the check
up of the presentation and in the closure and feedback. I will use the summative check, as I mentioned,
when I check the homework and the semi-controlled practiced.
Materials and Aids: a skein of wool, posters with the subject pronouns, flash cards with the greetings and
Subjects Pronouns, lollipops, an audio player.

Note: I know the time for the microteachins is just 15 minutes, but the plan is programmed
for a full class.
