Linnaean classification

The Linnaean system of classification was

created by a Swedish scientist called Carl
Linnaeus.

Each stage may include more that one division.

The Linnaean system of classification depends
on the following hierarchy.

Chordata,
Mollusca and
Porifera are all
different
divisions of
phyla.

The most important part of his system was

the use of two-part naming to identify
different species.

Importance of classification

Millions of animal, plant and microscopic

Makes it easier to do further studies on and

learn about different species.
