Chetty, Lee-Roy. "The Importance of Technology in Economic and Social
Development." Fair Observer. Fair Observer, 11 May 2013. Web. 12 Oct. 2014.
This article is looking into the impact of technology (general) in social and
economic terms. The author compares technology levels in various countries and
various tech-promoting organizations.
This is an opinion & fact based article. This article is relevant to my topic
because it is looking into the impact of mobile technology (type of computer) in
different countries. Overall though, this is probably a weak source as it loosely
related to my topic, the globalization and impacts of computers.
This source is an opinion-based article. The author, Lee-Roy Chetty is very
knowledgeable, as he is an expert on issues relating to economic and social
development on the African continent and also holds a Master's degree in Media
Studies from the University of Cape Town (UCT) and the University of
Massachusetts, Amherst.

This paper is looking into the globalization, impact, trends and statistics of
global innovation of the PC industry. The author looks into the parts of the PC
industry, including the assembly, production, distribution, costs, international
demand and supply, and popularity.
This paper was written by MIT professors. The paper is very thorough, wellresearched and presented. This paper is related to my topic as it discusses the
globalization of computers and the industry itself. I feel this source would be a
very strong in giving information on my topic.
This source is credible, as UCAL is a reputed college, and the paper is
thoroughly researched and incorporates a wide variety of resources.

This source talks about the foundation of technological globalization. The

bases include the invention of Apple computers, the PC, the internet, and
software. The author explains why each of these bases are important to
technological globalization.
This source gives an overall look at technological globalization. This article
is relevant to my research as I am trying to figure out the evolution, revolution,
and impact of technology on the world, including the PC industry.
This source is mostly fact-based and credible as it is written by a
knowledgeable author. The website itself is a library of articles related to
globalization.

Looking through this article, I find some interesting perspectives on how

different countries are dealing with STEM employees. This websites shows the
clear impact of skilled STEM employees and how they are the future of the
world. This source would be useful for the presentation part of the project.
The website is hosted by a credible UK based higher education research and
monitor company that works with colleges of various countries.

The article is looking into the impact of technology on developing children.
The website talks about childrens dependency on technology, the harmful
effects of its usage, and few of the neurological and physical effects associated
with tech usage.
This article is a highly biased opinion. I feel that this author looks too much
into the extreme negativities, but I chose this as a potential source because it
offers a very stark perspective on technology, that I previously not though about.
The charts in this article offers a very nice visual that can be used in the
presentation.
