Derailing Switch or Trap Points shall be kept open.
Cross-Over giving access to the running lines shall be kept clear of vehicles. Roller bearing stock shall be stabled on isolated lines as far as possible. The line on which vehicles are stabled shall be set against and locked to prevent vehicles escaping. Wooden wedges or sprags shall be used to prevent wagons rolling away. Minimum Two Safety chains shall be used and locked on either side of the formation. During night tail lamps or hand signal lamps showing red signals shall be fixed at either end. The cabins shall be advised under exchange of P N s. Line block collars on slide control or panel or lever frames shall be placed. Entries shall be made in the relevant columns of the station diary. A red ink entry in the TSR shall also be made. When line is vacated, PN shall be exchanged with cabins. In case of coaching vehicles, side lights at the end if available shall be switched on. The keys of derails, safety chains etc. shall be in the personal custody of the S M. SM shall inform SCOR before stabling and after clearing.
