of your homework routine. It is a great way to
double check homework assignment, hear
school/classroom information, and to answer the
Super Secret question which will earn your child
Mecha Money.

2. select option 6 for homework hotline
3. enter my code 9547
4. Listen to message, and then hang up.

Math:
We have one day of review and then we
will take our written assessment for
subtraction. We are then moving on to
multiplication this week. I have introduced
repeated addition and some vocabulary that is
common with multiplication. Get out those Flash
Cards!

Writing:

This week in Writers Workshop, we are

continuing our research on spiders.
The students have completed the
research, working very hard on their power point
presentations. They are adding the finishing
touches like pictures and animation! This week on

Thursday and Friday, we are going to present to the

class!
Indiana State Standards:
3.W.4: With support, apply the writing process
with editing/revision and uses technology to publish
a legible document.
3.W.4: With support, conduct research on a topic.
Understand that some sources are more reliable.
Relays information in their own words.
Homework Policy:
Dont forget all homework is due the following day.
1 day late has a 20% penitently and after 1 day is an
F.

Reading:

We have finished Economics and

jumping into Geography! We are going to
learn what a community is and how the
landforms affect how people live, work, and play.
We will also learn how to read a map, use a key, and
create a compass rose.
Vocabulary: communities, geography, capital,
festival, urban, suburb, rural, commute,
transportation, landform, adapt, region, plain,
plateau, natural resource, cardinal directions
Grammar: compound sentences (combining
sentences with common subject.)

Spelling:

Words: pumpkins, leaves, scarecrow, apples, cornstalk,

cider, rainy, football, autumn, November, turkey,
Thanksgiving

Planners and Parent Packs:

*sign planners each night after checking homework.

*Graded papers come home on Wednesday

Halloween Party:
Big Thank You to Mrs. Black, Mrs. Mathis, and
Mrs. Tepavcevich for hosting our Halloween
Party. The kids had a great time playing
minute-to-win-it games. It was also fun to
see everyone in their costumes!
