Peavy Primary
Career Awareness Programs:
Kindergarten:
Law, Public Safety, Corrections, and Security ClusterProviding legal, public safety, protective and homeland security
Education and Training ClusterProviding education, training, and related learning support
services.
1st Grade:
Agriculture, Food & Natural Resources ClusterProcessing, production, distribution, financing, and development
of agricultural commodities and natural resources.
Information Technology ClusterDesigning, supporting, and managing hardware, software,
multimedia, and systems integration.
2nd Grade:
A/V Technology & Communications ClusterCreating, exhibiting, performing, and publishing multimedia
content.
Hospitality & Tourism ClusterManaging restaurants and other food services, lodging,
attractions, recreation events, and travel-related services.
Programs will continue, but will receive added help in obtaining
speakers, field trips, and possible hands on activities to stimulate
student interest of careers.
Introduce soft skills to students.

Bonner Elementary
Career Awareness Programs:
3rd Grade:
Government & Public AdministrationExecuting governmental functions at the local, state, and federal
levels.
Science, Technology, Engineering, & MathematicsPerforming scientific research and professional technical services.
4th Grade:
ManufacturingProcessing materials into intermediate or final products.
MarketingPerforming marketing activities to reach organizational
objectives.
5th Grade:
Business Management & AdministrationOrganizing, directing, and evaluating functions essential to
productive business operations.
FinancePlanning finances and investments; managing banking, insurance,
and business finances.
Programs will continue, but will receive added help in obtaining
speakers, field trips, and possible hands on activities to stimulate
student interest of careers.
There will be increased awareness of soft skills and their importance.
Students will continue to have career awareness program with the
librarian.
Continue to utilize websites and virtual fieldtrips.

Middle School
Career Awareness Programs:
6th Grade:
Architecture & ConstructionDesigning, managing, building, and maintaining built
environment.
Transportation Distribution & LogisticsManaging movement of people, materials, and goods by road,
pipeline, air, rail, and water.
7th Grade:
Health ScienceProviding diagnostic and therapeutic services, health information,
support services, and biotechnology research and development.
Human ServicesProviding for families and serving human needs.
8th Grade:
Business Management & AdministrationOrganizing, directing, and evaluating functions essential to
productive business operations.
FinancePlanning finances and investments; managing banking, insurance,
and business finances.
Programs will continue, but will receive added help in obtaining
speakers, field trips, and possible hands on activities to stimulate
student interest of careers.
Career classes will continue to be held in the 8th grade.
Soft skills and their importance will be stressed.
The mentorship program will continue for the 8th grade.

High School
Programs:
Ag Science
Students will continue use hands on activities on a daily basis.
Math and Science will continue to be integrated into the
curriculum.
Activities within the FFA will continue to occur to build soft skills.
There will be an increase in the use of technology including
computerized welding simulators.
The greenhouse will be utilized to study the growth of plants
including grain sorghum. Grain sorghum is the crop that Angelina
College, Crockett Economic Development Cooperative, Hudson
ISD, and Lufkin ISD were researching for the production of
ethanol.
A tractor operators certification course will be implemented for
Hudson Ag. Science program.
Alternative energy sources will be studied.
There is a possibility of additional course offerings.
Future expansion of a CTE program with increased enrollment.
Family and Consumer Science
Math will continue to be integrated into the curriculum.
Activities within FCCLA will continue to occur to build soft skills.
There will be an increase in technology with the use of 10 new
laptops for the classrooms.
The need for a commercial kitchen exists. Plans for the kitchen
will be analyzed and possible grant funding obtained.
The use of mentors and guest speakers will increase. Job
shadowing and field trip opportunities for students will be
obtained.
Health Science
Science will continue to be integrated into the curriculum.
Activities within HOSA will continue to occur to build soft skills.
Students will be engaged with hands on activities at all stages of
the Health Science courses.
Twenty new laptops will be utilized within the health science
courses.

Ten additional new laptops were purchased by Memorial Health


Systems for the LVN program.
Certifications will continue to be offered in CNA, Phlebotomy,
Pharmacy Technician, and LVN.
Technology and Business Education
Course offerings will be analyzed to obtain maximum CTE
funding.
Career Preparation course will continue to be offered to allow
students to leave from school early, work at a job, and obtain 3
elective credits.
A new Mac computer lab will be used in video game design,
webmastering, and principles of technology classes.
A new PC lab will be used in the principles of technology classes.
Activities within FBLA will help build soft skills.
Job resume and interview skills will be taught.
MOS certifications will continue to be offered.
Project Based Learning will continue on the high school campus.
There will be an increase in the number of mentors and job shadowing
opportunities for students.
The level of community and business participation will increase.
Fifteen students will participate in the FIRST Robotics competition.
Many area businesses will serve as mentors for the project.
College and Career Fairs will begin in December and will become an
annual event.
Course offerings and integrations will be analyzed to increase levels of
learning.
State testing data will be utilized to allow CTE teachers to determine
areas of need for integration
