RESUME 6 LEADERSHIP
Leadership is an adjective which should there in a leader soul. Whereas, a
leader is an object. A person in the formal role of a leader may not possess
leadership skills nor be capable of leading. A good deal of leadership can come
from people who are not formal leaders.
McGregor behavioral theories can be divided into type X: where an
employee is avoiding work, do not like hard work, not happy to be given the
burden and responsibility, always waiting for guidance and do not dare to take the
initiative, so that the employees of type X should be closely supervised. Type Y:
where employees love the duties, responsibilities, happy with the challenge, full
of initiative, and creativity, so it does not need to be supervised. employee type X
can be a barrier to success. therefore people with type X should be changed to
type Y with having full of awareness and willing to make changes, began to offer
themselves to the team "what can I do?". To lead type Y employees is do not be
strictly supervised, do not be too detailed in giving orders, while to lead the type x
employees, managers tend to be autocratic and controlling,

extremely task

oriented and not put much emphasis on building positive relationships.

according to Gary A. Yukl there are several approaches that can be used as
a social power in order to become a leader, including: reward power where
someone likes to share the prize (money), coercive power that a leader should
avoid to give a penalty to its members, the legitimate power which a person had a

close relationship with people who are considered to have an important position,
expert power is becoming an expert in a field, and refferrent power is someone
who can be a reference or resources for everyone so many in need and come
looking for him.
