Mathematics has always been my dominant subject in school. I have had many math
teachers who have inspired my education, and one of my favorite Math teachers who pushed me
to be creative and find new ways to solve math problems. I have always enjoyed solving for
variables, and I find that I am good at it. It doesnt matter if Im solving for X or Y, solving for
variables is my strongest section in mathematics. My favorite type of mathematics is Consumers
Mathematics, as it allows me to calculate financial costs and allows me to control my spending
habits as a future young adult. I was informed of a budget challenge in which we would enter to
receive possibly future grants and scholarships. Im number three in my class for the budget
challenge.
These quizzes and tests are some of my best work in Mathematics. They represent my
overall math capabilities, while still maintaining proper formulas and equations. They express
my love for mathematics as the teachers can tell by my grade. To be able to understand math
isnt always easy. I like these quizzes and tests, because that is what matters most when you care
about your grades. I used special formulas and theorems when you look at my Algebra II C&S
Quiz 3.1-3.2 and my Algebra II C&S Chapter 1 test, which was quite difficult to comprehend for
me. The fact that these tests and quizzes were also used as class representations for answer keys
and proper work shown for solving these equations, shows that this is some of my best work in
Mathematics.
Mathematics is an important skill to have as a police officer. The ability to calculate
simple tickets can be ultimate skill in becoming a police officer. If I am constantly using devices
to calculate speeding tickets etc, it will not make me a good police officer. I need to know how to
calculate and subtract speed and fines, in order to get along with my bosses and other employees.
The unchangeable structure of math has generated me to help people clear old criminal records
by keeping track of their fines and tickets.
