Rubric for Local Activism Argument Assignment:

To earn a 4 (full credit):

The student clearly presents a counter argument to their stance and effectively explores
and presents the stance they have on their topic.
The student uses effective speaking skills to clearly present and display their argument.
The student has a peer-revised draft (with Round Robin Revision sheet) and has
interacted with other students drafts. Student show critical engagement with revision.
The student has effectively and critically completed all research guides; furthermore, the
guides show a clear connection to prior and future research.
The student has three or more credible and effective sources in their report.
The student has a clear thesis and organization of the information; as well as, 3-4 pages
double-spaced, 12pt font, 1 inch margins.

To earn a 3:

The student presents a counter argument to their stance and explores and presents the
stance they have on their topic.
The student uses public speaking skills to present their argument.
The student has a peer-revised draft (with Round Robin Revision sheet) and has
interacted with other students drafts.
The student has effectively completed most of the required research guides; furthermore,
the guides show a connection to prior and future research.
The student has 2-3 relevant sources.
The student has a thesis and some organization of the information; the student might not
have all 3 pages, but the report is double-spaced, 12pt font, 1 inch margins.

To earn a 2:

The student does not present a counter argument to their stance, yet presents the stance
they have on their topic.
The student presents their argument.
The student has a peer-revised draft (with Round Robin Revision sheet) but failed to
interact with others work.
The student has completed some of the required research guides; furthermore, the guides
show little connection to prior and future research.
The student has little documentation of the sources.
The student has a wanting thesis and weak organization of the information; the student
might not have all 3 pages, or meet other document conventions.

To earn a 1 or 0:

The student puts little effort into report and does not show evidence of their stance or
counterargument.
The student wont present their report.
The student did not participate in Round Robin Revision.
The student has few or none of the require Research Guides, and the effort is lacking.
The student has no documentation of the sources.
The student has not thesis and weak organization of the information; the student does not
meet other document conventions.
