1. What: the idea or kaupapa/He aha

Explain the central idea or kaupapa of your project and how your project will deliver to the Creative
New Zealand Strategic Outcome that you have selected in Part II. You will be assessed on how
strong and how well-developed your idea is and how well your project will deliver to the selected
outcome: (Maximum 800 words)
If relevant to your project you should also explain:

23 24

how the practice and results of the project are culturally diverse OR based on
Mtauranga Mori OR based on Kaupapa Pasifika.

the way in which your project is innovative in the creation and/or production of the work.

how your project benefits community arts participation.

The idea is to create a Fantasy world that will be used for a series of films. This wild
existed before our world today. It was when the continents were all still connected as
one, when it was called Pangaea. While Pangaea really did exist we will be creating a
new fantasy world that does not exist in this world human do not exist instead this
fantasy world is populated by five different races that can draw magical abilities from
the elements around them. For instance you will have the Silvans who are the earth race
and can control nature around them. The other races are the Avians who control air, the
Brucites who have dominion over fire, the Naiads who get there powers from water and
the final group the Carrions who can control decay and death. Each of these races look
human but at the same time they have one thing that is not human about them. Each
one of these extra features come from the elements that the race can control for
instance the Avians all have wings, the Naiads all have gills and webbed fingers, the
Brucites have horns, the Carrions have shark like fangs, and the Silvans look the most
normal except that they have no hair on their bodies. The Silvans also have tribal
tattoos on them that resemble vines crawling on their skin. In this world there are not
only humans that populate it but also animals. For instance there is a beast called the
Lindworm that is a creature of decay and sort of resembles half centipede and half
reptilian. The creature is huge and in the main story our heroes come across it and have
to fight it.
The main is about a boy named Aries who is on a quest to free his fathers soul from the
main antagonist, Ophiuchus. Aries is accompanied by a group of companions as he
travels across this world and encounters different horrors along the way. By creating this
world there is room for more stories to take place inside it as well as continuations of
Aries story. With creating a new fictional world we will need the help from many different
people to help out with this project. For instance each race in this world will need there
own clothes, art, and way they live. This can be used to hire many different arts builders
and cothes designers locally to help design and explore a very unique world. Since this
film will also utilize the vast scenery and nature that New Zealand has at its disposal.
This project is going to be a lot of planning to help build this world up from scratch but
by using everyones different skill sets I think we will be able to create a very livable
world that feels like it has its own culture. I feel that a project on this scale would help
bring jobs to a wide range of people and bring business throughout the community.

Artistic support material should be attached after Part IV of your application (if relevant):

2. How: the process/Phea te whakatutuki

Explain where, when and how you plan to deliver the project: (Maximum 500 words)
The Basic timeline that Im think that will happen would be to start with the designing
phase. This would be when a group of arts designers costumers etc. get together to help
design and flesh out the culture of this new world. It will be a lot of work trying to make
this new world as realistic as looking as possible while at the same time having stay
mysterious and fantastical to the veiwers. After that phase is down. We will be able to
start on the principle photograph where the film will really start taking shape. And we
can have actors start play out and live in this world. After we finish the film we will look
for multiple film festivals that will be interested in this story.

The following supporting documents should be attached after Part III of your application
(if relevant):
- a letter of acceptance from the relevant institution or provider (if it is a professional
study opportunity)
- a timeline
- invitations or written agreements to create, present or distribute your work
- letters of recommendation or support from up to 3 relevant referees - ask them to comment
on the project you are applying for
- professional assessments (for example, from script advisers, dramaturges or directors)
(The maximum word count above does not include supporting documents)

3. Who: the people/Ko wai ng tngata

Tell us about the key people involved: (Maximum 500 words)
We havent set up a lot of the key people who will have major roles in building the world because we
want to use locals to help increase local business. But there are multiple people who I have worked
with through my time at unitec that would be interested in joining me on this project and lending me
their skills
The following supporting documents should be attached after Part III of your application
(if relevant):
- letters of invitation
- written confirmation of availability of the key people involved in the project
(The maximum word count above does not include supporting documents)
