Abía ehkuxáo kon desidia a suh
dehpertaba...

THE YEARS
Sitting in a bar a few drinks over his limit, Miguel Hernandez began to worry
when he discovered that time passed for him too. He had listened to his childhood
friends with apathy when they advised him to settle down, but our man had always
taken those words to be tall stories through which they were able to disguise their
own frustrations, projecting them on Miguel to prevent him doing the things that
they had never had the chance to do, nor ever would. Whether it was a mid-life
crisis or his thoughts were the result of the effects of alcohol, Miguel now
felt bewildered by his loneliness in a place that he had always enjoyed; he
now looked around and everything appeared to be ephemeral: the dances lacked
meaning and the apparent happiness of others annoyed him. He could not choke
back his instinct to stand up and go outside to breathe the fresh air, and once
there, he would wake up...
This had been a repetitive dream over the past two months. How should he
interpret it? The only fair conclusion that he managed to draw was that he did not
like it, and that nobody should read Kafka´s Metamorphosis before going to bed.
