CELLS

PLASMA MEMBRANE

The cell membrane works like a wall because it

separates the inside of the cell from the outside, like a wall
separates the outside world from inside a building. The plasma
membrane in found all around the cell. The difference is the
plasma membrane can also let things in, while controlling
what enters. A wall on the other hand doesnt have that much
responsibility.

NUCLEUS
The nucleus is in control of
everything, like your brain. The
nucleus works as a control
center, and gives out
instructions to make proteins.
The brain gives out commands
throughout your body.

RIBOSOMES
Makes protein synthesis and
links amino acids. Ribosomes
link together to produce
protein. An antibody is
something similar to ribosomes.
An antibody is a Y-shaped
protein made up of plasma
cells that is used by the immune
system. Its used to identify
foreign objects.

CYTOPLASM
Cytosol: Liquid jelly
like substance thats
enclosed within the
cell membrane.
Cytoplasm is 80%
water, and is usually
colorless. Jell-O is
similar to cytoplasm in
the since of how its
the cytoplasm feels.

MITOCHONDRIA
The mitochondria holds the
supply of cell energy. Its also
does task such as signaling,
cellar diffraction and cell
death. The mitochondria is
like a growth hormone. The
reason for this is because
both are in charge of the
growth and development of
a living thing.

CHLOROPLASTS
The chloroplasts works like a
greenhouse because it takes in sun
light. The chloroplasts then transfers
this sun light into energy. It is only
found in plant cells, and uses
photosynthesis. The chloroplasts takes
in H2O and CO2 and turns it into C6H12O6.

CELL WALL
The cell wall gives
plant cells support, its
made up of
polysaccharide, and
controls what goes in
and out of the cell. This
works like the great
wall of china.

ROUGH ER

Rough ER help with

protein synthesis.
Rough ER is like GEF,
because GEF causes
a binding protein to
release GDP.

SMOOTH ER

Smooth ER synthesizes
carbs and lipids.
Because of this I
picked carbs.

GOLGI

The Golgi or the Finisher is

known to pretty much add
the finishing touches to
anything being transported
out of the cell. The reason I
picked pants for this is
because when pants are
being made the fabric is put
together, but the button and
zipper still need to be
attached.

VACUOLES/VESICLES

These are known

as vacuole
storage they
provide transport
throughout the
cell. This works as
a storage
container.

LARGE CENTRAL VACUOLE

Stores water and
takes most of the
space in the cell.

LYSOSOMES
Lysosomes are
hydrolytic enzymes that
break down and
recycle parts of the cell.
Because of this I picked
the recycling symbol.

CENTRIOLES

This is another way of saying cell division. This type of cell division is
preformed with spindle fibers.

MICROTUBULES
Microtubules, also known as microfilaments works like an
cytoskeleton works with movement, shape, support, and protection.
