Bean bag toss

9 minutes

Class will be in pairs and will have 5bean bags per each group. Each student will
have 2 opportunities to throw the bean bags before their partner does the same thing.
The partner that is not throwing the bean bags is near the hula hoop encouraging their
partner and helping them direct the toss into the hoop. They will also help recite the
cues to throwing with their partner to help them complete the task. Once the first
partner is done with their turn the roles are switched. There will be different rounds
in which the hula hoops are moved farther away from the thrower to increase the
difficulty

Set Up
Students will be in the same pairs as the previous activity and will stand about 5 feet
from one another. They will practice throwing and catching with foam balls while
reciting the COTS. They will start out throwing back and forth to their partners, but
progress into an application for how many they can throw and catch without dropping
their ball. Then they will go into a game called giant step toss. Students will throw
and catch with one another; if the ball is caught they take a giant step back. If the ball
is missed they take a giant step forward.
