Time
Set up

Cha Cha Slide (line dance)

12 minutes

Students will be on a specific spot marked up by chalk in 5 columns of 6 students.

They will be in this formation as a line dance, and will listen for the cues to which
dance move is next. Students will get an opportunity to be creative and make their
own dance moves when there is down time in the song. First we will listen for the
beat, and then we will practice the dance. To refine, the music may be stopped and
restarted if needed.

Students will be in the same columns as they were in the previous dance. Once again
they will find the beat for the song. When they have done so they will practice
dancing the Cupid Shuffle in line dance formation. I will be there helping students by
having them mirror me. We will play the song over if I need to help refine the task if
it gets out of hand or if they need more help with the dance.
