*Must have 4-year degree in Cytology
*Willing to teach cell classes 4 days per week
*Create a cell model and complete application.
*Show expert skills in cytology by creating 3-D
cell project and including other requirements

signature and turning it in by deadline. * A
deadline is a deadline and only full credit 10/10
will be given for applications turned in on time.
* Completed cell model must be received by
assigned due dates. C projects will be due 1st,
then B projects next and finally A projects.

Cell Project Requirements (Worth 100 points)

*Model must be 3 Dimensional!
*Can be a plant or animal cell
*ALL Cell models must include these organelles cell
membrane, cytoplasm and DNA
*Prove knowledge by completing other handouts and
parts of the project to the highest quality
* ALL parts of project must be complete to be
considered for desired grade.

3-D Cell Model Project Grading Project Options

This project will include options for A, B or C project

Cell Project Grade Options and

Guidelines
"A" projects will earn 100 points
Due:
Guidelines to earn an A Project:
1) 10 - 3x5 note cards completed and assembled in baggie, paperclip, ring-clip,
or connected in some other manner.
- See attached Note Card Requirements informational sheet for
directions.
- Must include the cell membrane, cytoplasm and DNA!
2) Report that includes ALL of information from your note cards written into
complete sentences in one location.
- Please spell-check and proofread this for mistakes
- It must be typed in 12 pt Calibri Font or written in pen.
- Must include the cell membrane, cytoplasm and DNA!
Examples:
1. Cell membrane is ----------. Its function in the cell is ----------. It acts
like ----------.
2. Cytoplasm is ----------. Its function in the cell is ----------. It acts like
----------.
3) Colored 1 page 2D-drawing of cell with labels of where each organelle is
located.
* Must include the cell membrane, cytoplasm and DNA!
4) 3-D project nothing should be completely flat
- 10 organelles with labels
(Must include the Cell Membrane, DNA and cytoplasm)
- Labels are neatly created without smudges using pen, marker or
typed. NO PENCIL!
5) Works cited page showing your 3 references.
- Must be typed in 12 pt Calibri Font and double-spaced
- Title it Works Cites and number the references
6) 1 page short story about A Day in the Life of __________.

Tell a story about how the cells help a multi-cellular organism stay
alive. For example, explain in short story how heart cells function to
keep an animal alive.
- Include research, but also be funny and creative.
- Must be typed in 12 pt Calibri Font and double-spaced

B projects will earn 90 points

Due:
Guidelines to earn a B Project:
1) 8 - 3x5 Note cards completed in baggie, paperclip, stapled or connected in
some other manner. Note cards must include a brief 2-sentence explanation
of each organelle function. (Must include these organelles cell
membrane, cytoplasm and DNA)
2) Report that includes ALL of information from your note cards written into
complete sentences in one location.
- Please spell-check and proofread this for mistakes
- It must be typed in 12 pt Calibri Font or written in pen.
- Must include the cell membrane, cytoplasm and DNA!

2. Cell membrane is ----------. Its function in the cell is ----------. It acts
like ----------.
2. Cytoplasm is ----------. Its function in the cell is ----------. It acts like
----------.
3) Colored 1 page 2D-drawing of cell with labels of where each organelle is
located. (Must include these organelles cell membrane, cytoplasm and
DNA)
4) 3-D project nothing should be completely flat
- 8 organelles with labels (Must include Cell Membrane, DNA and
cytoplasm)
- Labels are neatly created without smudges using pen, marker or
typed. NO PENCIL!
5) Works cited page showing your 2 references.

Due:
Guidelines to earn a C Project:
1) 5 - 3x5 Note cards completed in baggie, paperclip, stapled or connected in
some other manner. Note cards must include a brief 2-sentence explanation
of each organelle function. (Must include these organelles cell
membrane, cytoplasm and DNA)
2) Report that includes ALL of information from your note cards written into
complete sentences in one location.
- Please spell-check and proofread this for mistakes

located. (Must include these organelles cell membrane, cytoplasm and
DNA)
4) 3-D project nothing should be completely flat
- 5 organelles with labels (Must include Cell Membrane, DNA and
cytoplasm)
- Labels are neatly created without smudges using pen, marker or
typed. NO PENCIL!

Note Cards Requirements

a. Each organelle will need its own note card. Pencil is okay on this part of
project as the note cards are a sloppy copy.
b. Note cards will be due when project is due but should be done before
complete and used as research for 2D drawing, handout and model.
c. ALL Projects must have these 3 note cards (cell membrane, DNA,
cytoplasm)
d. Note cards must be:
i. NEAT
ii. COLORFUL
iii. SHOULD SHOW RESEARCH BEING DONE FOR PROJECT
iv. On 3 x 5 INDEX CARDS
v. NUMBERED 1-10 (A) or 1-8(B) or 1-5(C)
Front

Center top line Type of Cell

Bottom right corner Name
Skip 2 lines from top Organelle name
Skip 2 more lines Function of organelle
Bottom Left corner Website or source

Back

Divide card in half neatly by using a line (pen or pencil)

Left half draw and color cell with correct location of
organelle with label.
Right half draw picture comparing organelle to
something else. For example, the nucleus is like the
brain or boss of cell so you can draw a brain or control
center.
