Freshman Technology Center

Goals & Objectives


Goal I - To provide one interactive white board (IWB) to enhance lessons for student
engagement.
Objective 1 - To increase student centered activities with technology in the freshman
technology center to a 1:1 ratio
Objective 2 - To increase proficiency level on EOC scores from below the Louisiana state
average to at or above the state average on each course.
Algebra I School 52%; State 55%
Geometry School 46%; State 55%
English II School 72%; State 75%
English III School 45%; State 58%
Biology* - School 63%; State 58% *Above state- increase 5%- goal - 68%
US History School 36%; State 53%
Objective 3 - To increase student achievement on ACT composite score from the school
average of 17.0 composite to at or above the state average of 19.5 composite score.
Goal II - To increase student use of online collaboration tools.
Objective 1 Increase student exposure to various cultures across the United
States/world (ex. Skyping/videoconferencing with other classrooms)
Objective 2 To increase student exposure to various experts in different fields (ex.
Skyping with a NASA experts)
Goal III - To increase daily faculty and student use of technology tools.
Objective 1 - To increase use of technology of interactive white boards from 39% to 65%
during the course of one school year by providing progressive professional development
sessions on interactive white board use in the classroom and computer lab.
Objective 2 To increase the use of webcams from 0% to 25% during the course of one
school year by providing progressive professional development sessions on the use of
webcams in the classroom and computer lab.
