4. What did you learn about the edTPA?
By fall of 2015, all program graduates will be assessed by the edTPA. It is a presentation
assessment for experienced teachers and allows research on effective teaching. More than 27
states are in various stages of applying the edTPA.
5. What is the APT test?
The APT assesses applicants on a professional and academic knowledge. This is usually done
during the student teaching semester and is obligatory to become certified in the state of Illinois.
6. How do you apply for licensure?
Educator licensure program will apply directly to the academic department responsible for
administering the program. All applicants for admission to educator licensure programs must
have an understanding in reading, communication, and mathematical skills.
