Assignment
Design a website that includes detailed information on one of these native groups:
Inuit, Iroquois, Plains, Northwest Coast, Plateau, Subarctic or Eastern
Woodlands
Include lots of pictures (with explanatory captions) and lots of information on your web page,
focusing on aspects of their traditional life. Individual pages on the following topics should be
included:
Basics Food, Fashion/clothing, Shelter, Important Items, Population Demographics
Culture deeper information (including social organization, ceremonies, religion)
Geography description of the area and how it impacts life. Include maps and graphs.
History origins (including mythology), first contact, recent history, current situation
Bibliography sources of information bibliography as well as an images bibliography
Research
The pages should include information that you have researched from several sources, including
your textbook, library books, encyclopedias and the internet. Research notes must be provided
along with a bibliography before work on the actual website is begun. Copying and pasting from
other websites is obviously not allowed. Some students have been tempted to plagiarize on this
assignment in the past. Students should remember that plagiarism will result in a grade of zero.
Format
The website should be made at www.weebly.com. Instruction on how to use this website will be
provided in class. Two partial blocks of time will be provided in class to work on computers.
