We,

the members of the Eisenhower Senior


High School, are committed to enriching the
lives of all whom we touch. We will accomplish
this goal by maintaining academic excellence,
examining and sharing positive values,
affirming dignity in diversity, promoting
positive social development, and serving as a
community resource.



As part of the Aldine ISD, Eisenhower High

School offers the regular high school
curriculum prescribed by the Texas Education
Agency (TEA). In addition, the school also
offers a strong college preparatory program
with the Advance Placement (AP) and
International Baccalaureate (IB) Programs

It is the only high school in the district, and in

the northwest Houston Area, which offers the


IB Diploma Program. Over the years, the AP
and IB students have w on numerous awards in
History, Art and, other Academic UIL
competitions. Shown on the picture are IB
students (and their teacher) whose art works
had been on e xhibit at the Houston Museum
of Fine Arts.

Big Ike is a Title 1 school, which has about 2000
students, from grades 9 12. The students
come from very diverse backgrounds mirroring
the diverse composition of the community it
serves.

Seventy-five percent of the students are


economically disadvantaged.

Eisenhower High School has an average

graduation rate of about 87%.



Eisenhower High school continuously receives
awards and recognition for its sports, career
and technology programs, and academic
programs. Two of the most prestigious are the
US News Best High School awards.

Only 7.4% of the faculty are beginning


teachers. About 43% have 1-5 years teaching
experience. Teachers who have 6 to 20 years
of experience comprise 58.5%.


Located in the Inwood Forest community on
Antoine Dr., and the western portion of Acres
Homes, Eisenhower was the first desegregated
school in Aldine ISD. Named after President
Dwight D. Eisenhower, the school opened in
1972. It was named a National Blue Ribbon
School in 1988-1989.
