L1- General back ground and overview
- Quick overview of the development of the Electric power industry and the
time schedule of the Iraqi grid growth is presented.
- The basic power system components and their electrical representation are
comprehensively demonstrated.
-The Voltage structure of the electric system is brodely explained and adapted to
Iraqi National Grid. That covers the 400kV, 132kV,33kV and the 11kV mains
systems.
-The main power system studies were addressed and they include; load flow
studies, short circuit studies, stability studies, economic dispatch,etc..
-The power system component representation based on single line diagrams and
impedance diagrams are started with in order make acquaintance with handling
power system studies. That with basic principles of the per unit method of
calculations.
-Lecture-L1 detailed notes and examples are found in the following chapters of
the student received test books mentioned above and :(i) chapter's 1&2 of text-1,
(ii) chapter's 1&2 of text-2,
(iii) chapter's 1&2 of text-3.
