Based on the Mitosis and Meiosis vocabulary attached, create an original song and music video
to highlight the process of mitosis and meiosis as learned in class and through other educational
sources. Your music video/song should be no longer than 5 minutes and should cover all of the
following criteria in it:
Song:
1. Music from any genre. You can make a rap, a country song, pop, hip hop, etc. The music
can be an original sound track created by you or it can be the cover of another song
(Example: Bruno Mars When I see your face) The skys the limit on your choice.
2. The song has to include a description of the steps of mitosis and meiosis (including
cytokinesis) from start to finish.
3. The song has to talk about the function of mitosis and meiosis in the body and why our
cells go through this process
4. The song must also include under what conditions the body goes through mitosis and
meiosis
5. Lyrics must be typed/printed and handed in to the teacher in addition to the music video
Video:
1. The video may be an original animation or something videotaped with your group
members in it. (If you need a camera you can rent one from the school library)
2. The video should be entertaining and represent what the song is singing about but it has
to be school appropriate and MUST NOT contain any obscene words or body
movements!
3. The video has to be given to me in one of the following formats: YouTube video, DVD,
Google Drive, or flash drive. Any other means of digital media please consult with me
first.
4. The video, like the song, should be no longer than 5 minutes
