Do you utilize the instructional wiki as a curriculum map? Or another form of curriculum pacing? If so,
1 what other form do you use?
job alike meetings, student needs
2 map, but very flexible...
3 I use the instructional wiki.
4 No, I use the pacing guide set up by our Middle School Math Instructional Coach.
5 I do not use it since I teach Sped students I pace their curriculum pacing on their needs according to their IEP.
How often do you use the map? (daily, 2-3 times/week, weekly, monthly, less than
1 monthly)
2 less than monthly
3 Weekly
D
1 Has this amount changed since you started teaching? How has it changed, and why?
2 yes, gotten to know the scope / sequence abit better
3 I used it more last year with the addition of Accelerated SS.
Yes. I refer to it more and more. I used to just follow the book, but the pacing guide helps me stay on track 4 timewise.
I use the childs IEP goal and testing as the base and then map it out for the year. We work on a quarter at a time
5 and then look at their goals to make sure we are covering them.
In what ways does the map impact your teaching (What do you use most?) (resources, pacing guide,
1 standards, assessments, other) And if you don't use anything, how do you map or follow your own

The pacing guide is very helpful with the information it provides - days on lesson/topic, suggested review
covered,
additional
note.
4 Iquestions,
would saystandards
the I use the
assessments
and
resources the most since I have sped students. The standards may not
be appropriate for them but the resources help me to find some that would work and are close to what they would
5 be able to get in the regular classroom but modified for them because they are sped.

1 What is something that you wish the map included, or didn't include?
2 resources....for subject/unit matter
3 nothing
4 Nothing else.
I would think that more alternative options would be good. It is often hard to find what you need for a special needs
5 child.
Do you feel that having a guide or map is something that you need to be a better teacher? Could you or
1 would you want to teach without it?
for topic
resources.

3 Iprobably
feel thatneed/use
it is a great
GUIDE in staying on track and making the most use of my time & resources. It also keeps
me informed as to the standards being covered - how much/how long, duplicated, etc.
4 I would rather not teach without it. It has become more useful the more I teach!
I feel that a guide is really helpful and also gives me other options to use to work with the child. I have taught with
5 and without it and it does help you keep better track of what I need to do and what I have covered.
