Observation
CRU meeting is a private conference for campus bible study group to study
one chapter each time in order to spread Gods spirit though students to students
and divided by three parts which are singing Christian song, Sharing personal story
and Bible study. There are 64 people to participant CRU meeting on Oct 23 at 8:009:15.
In the beginning, there were six people were sitting front to guide us to sing
the songs. Two people raised their right hand to involve in the music to thanks God
in lyrics. I think raising hand for Christians who have more faith to express how they
see the glory of God. James came out to announce there are couple events, such as
Locklears Halloween Party, Dance Marathon and Encounter--winter conference in
the following weeks. After that, James ask us rater questions that do we rather go
back to our past than future. People surround me did think deeply and would actively
raise their hands to express what they thought.
We raise up to sing Christian songs Blessed be your name while we looked
at the lyres on the screen that we all enjoyed the music very much.
A girl named Sarah to share her experience on summer project to help her
continue growing. She went to Charleston, North Carolina last summer and World
Grace to across different countries in a month. She was not only learnt how to turn
her work to grace during the mission trip but also how to connect her awareness with
God valuably. Besides, she told us her missions friends was like her family to learn
how to love each other and define their identity. she established the process was
really more meaningful beyond her thought that she strongly recommend us to go to
the mission trip no matter what.
Mr Tyler said the purpose of the bible study was let us learning more about
Christ and walk with him. He described animals which is easily to get loss and
stubborn and let us guess he was talking about sheep. We talk about John 10
tonight, and the majority of us will take out a bible to read and listen to him when
around six people took notes. In the Bible study group, we listen the story from the
Bible that we like sheep who also felt loss all the time and have some similar
personalities, like blind, as sheep. God knew completely the relationship between
sheep and sheeper that he contributed his life to save. The sheeps believe in
sheeper because of trust, so we were learning the bible in order to listen his voice.
We listen him patiently and understand more about God in this Bible study.
After that, we went to Cookout to have some snacks and chat with each other
together.

Rebecca recommends me to observe a bible study group as one of my primary
resource, so I decide to observe a CRU meeting in campus. Observation can helps me
know what Christians actually react in a bible study group with their friends. When
they raise up their hands, is that mean they think they have a faith in god to thanks
for him? I believe they only raise their hand when they are singing Christian song
because they are Christian. Singing Christian songs and attending bible study group

can reflect their Institution Identity based on they are Christians. When the girl
share her summer project that she learn how she connect her awareness with God
and learn how to love others, she shape her Institution Identity by her position as a
member of summer project. Since she wants her friends to have similar outcome,
she shares her experiences to encourage them to go to the summer project. Besides
they pulled out their Bible, study chapter John 10 together and took notes together,
their participation and sharing experience can shape their Affinity Identity.
