This article discusses findings of the East Celtic type helmets and their fragments in ritual complexes (Tsarsky, 18;
Boyko-Ponura, 1) and in burials (Yashkul, gr. 37, 1, 1) in Sarmatia. Most likely the helmets originate from the Balkan
Celtic area. Two items from ritual complexes refer to an early chronological group (end of II first half of the I century
B.C.); their appearance in Sarmatia is probably connected with events of Mithridatic wars. The helmet detail from a
Sarmatian burial in Yashkul belongs to the late chronological group (the second half of the I century B.C.).
