Position Synthesis
Obesity its not a lifestyle choice where people are just eating and not exercising. I
want to convince the reader with the facts such as eating disorders can bring and harm
peoples lives and how this issue can be treated with a healthy diet, an active life, and
appropriate rest. My purpose is to persuade persons on how to overcome the obstacles
regarding to the issues of overweight. The topics discussed include the health benefits of
the diet plan, the significance of exercise in reducing and managing stress, and the
advantage of having enough rest. Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social
well-being, and not merely the absence of disease.
As people, sometimes we become obsessed with health and there are times that we
realize that we must get ill in order to change. Poor health is not caused by something you
dont have; its caused by disturbing something that you already have. Obesity is defined as
weighing at least 20 percent more than what you should or having a body mass index of 30
or more. The percentage of the population considered as obese jumped drastically between
the 1980s and 2009. As well described, The best way to alleviate the obesity public
health crisis is to remove obesity from the realm of public health. It doesnt belong there

anyway. Its difficult to think of anything more private and of less public concern than what
we choose to put into our bodies (Balko, 397). If you have health, you probably will be
happy, and if you have health and happiness, you are satisfied with yourself.
When it comes to eating and exercising, one must do the right thing. For example,
one companys web site lists its chicken salad as containing 150 calories; the almonds and
noodles that come with it (an additional 190 calories) are listed separately. Add a serving of
the 280-calorie dressing, and youve got a healthy lunch alternative that comes in at 620
calories. But thats not all. Read the small print on the back of the dressing packet and
youll realize it actually contains 2.5 servings. If you pour what youve been served, youre
suddenly up around 1,040 calories, which is half of the governments recommended daily
calorie intake (Zinczenko, 393). But, also a long sleep is considered as the best cure in the
doctors book. Health is a state of complete harmony of the body, mind, and spirit. We
must think like this, good health is a duty to yourself. We can make a comparison to our
bodies as machines for living. It is organized for that, it is its nature. Therefore, it is a
blessing if we take care of our health and live our lives with such positive aspects.
The scientific truth may be put quite briefly; eat moderately, having an ordinary
mixed diet, keep an exercise routine, and sleep well, and you will experience that stress will
go away as well. Important to note is not to take it as to eat less in order to avoid sickness
because we must eat balanced every day to make the metabolism work properly. To put an
example, although they can be very healthy, I believe the focus on gluten free lifestyles is a
little misplaced because of the reason that we need to eat variations of nutrients in our

regular diet habits. But my vision here is encouraging the practice of pleasure in balance
every day in a way that supports your physical and emotional well-being to positively
impact your overall health. Also, research has shown the health benefits of regular,
moderate exercise for body fitness. While we usually cannot avoid the things that cause us
stress in our daily living, we are capable to manage our reactions to stressful situations. Do
not leave stress unmanaged; take a me time. That matters because stress steals our energy
and can make us gain weight (MAHONEY).
I strongly agree with that everyone should be his own physician. Eating with
moderation is a key. Nothing is good for the body but what we can digest. What medicine
can produce digestion? The answer is exercise. What will recruit strength? Sleep. And
without letting aside, what will alleviate illness? The right answer is patience in our efforts.
The problem isn't that people don't want to eat well and be well. Trust me, no one who's

ever been wheeled into my operating room is happy to be there. And the problem, believe it
or not, isn't that they doubt the wisdom of a healthy diet. More often than you'd think, the
problem is that a lot of folks just don't know what a healthy diet looks like--and why should
they, since the rules keep changing? (Oz).
Illness is the result of imbalance. Imbalance is a result of forgetting who you are.
Forgetting who you are creates thoughts and actions that lead to an unhealthy lifestyle and
eventually to illness. Thus, illness can be considered in such a case as a lesson you have
given yourself to help you remember who you are and what you are made of.

Here is why I insist that nutrition is essential not only for life, but for a healthy life.
It has a connection what you eat and how you feel. Your body reflects what you consume
and what you do. Eating a wide variety of healthy foods is the key to get the nutrients into
our organism. However, many foods have a huge impact on our heart health. Research has
long shown that fruits and vegetables and a diet rich in whole grains and low in saturated
fats can help protect the body from heart disease and high blood pressure, to put an
example. And when we combine exercise together, a post-workout snack isnt just any
snack. You want to make sure you are getting the enough nutrients to protect your muscles
you've put so much work into. Proteins are always the best in this case. It appears that
protein and fitness somehow go hand-in-hand; and it is true, protein can help promote a
healthy weight and can help muscles to recover after a good workout. It is a macronutrient
found in many types of foods such as meats, dairy products, nuts, and beans, to name a few.
But, in order to have an adequate weight we also need sufficient sleep. When you are short
on sleep, you might be too tired to skip routine exercise. Experts agree that getting enough
rest is as important to health, well-being, and your weight as diet and exercise. You are
more able to make good decisions when your brain is clear, for example, when people were
starved of sleep, late-night snacking increased, which is something bad if we want to lose
weight since eating late at night is often blamed for obesity because increased in your body
weight during this period of time are caused primarily by changes in the rate at which your
metabolism functions during sleeping versus waking hours. It is not like when eating
during the day that you are active. Studies have found that sleeping too little promotes
people to eat bigger portions of all food and this increases their weight gain. In such case,

researchers have also found that lack of sleep led to increased cravings for energy-dense,
high-carbohydrate foods. This leads people to anxiety. And we cannot exclude hydration in
our plan; why is it so important? Every cell, tissue, and organ in our bodies need water to
function correctly. Water is used to remove waste. There exist different recommendations
for water intake every day. Some people need different amounts of water to stay hydrated.
And there exists a tricky balance to figure out what works best for weight loss. Drinking
water throughout the day can help you to feel full. You may also eat less before ingesting a
glass of water during the meals, therefore, consuming fewer calories on a daily basis can
help speed weight loss.
However, preserving our health by too strict a regimen cant be too good after all.
Some people may even consider it ridiculous to become obsessive with such health issues;
it can be in the mind too. But I think life is not only to be alive, but to be well. I dont agree
with that if you wish to keep as well as possible, the less you think about your health, the
better. Those obsessed with health are not healthy, as a counterargument. So we can also
see it as nothing is more fatal to health than an over care of it. Another example could be
excessive anxiety because of this issue and could lead to the fact of messing up with the
diet plan, exercise program, and deep sleep.
Just remember, you are as important to your health as it is to you. Health is a
relationship between you and your body. And I can finalize saying too that our illness is
often our healing because is the time when one makes the decision whether to change or to
not. And happiness hopefully lies, first of all, in health.
