Activity Planning Form (CHDV 150 enhanced CHDV 210)


Activity Planning forms are used by teacher to plan new activities and teaching strategies that
match or enhance the children learning needs.
Knowing the correct format for the form such as including DRDP measures, goals, and learning
objectives.
Activity planning forms emphasizes the development of children thinking, reasoning, decision
making, and problem solving.
Block Plan (CHDV 150, enhanced in CHDV 210 as Teacher in Charge Project) CHDV 200
culturally relevant block plan optional

Youre able to include specific scheduling for a specific child or children for activities.
Its a lesson plan that consist of time management for the day or week of the children activities
or daily schedule.
Its a lesson plan that consist of math, language/literacy, and art, with contributes to fostering
all the childrens domains.

ECERS (CHDV 160), and Designs for Living and Learning component of the Teacher in
Charge Project

Know to observe the environment and make sure the center fosters child development in all
domains in a play based environment.
Its designed to access the environment and program of preschoolers, in which it consists of 43
items that are graded such as the environment, basic care, curriculum, interaction, schedule and
program structure and also staff education.
The environment has to provide anti-bias and culture relevant items around the class.

I am able to provide a parents letter talking about the goals, activities, and objectives that in the
lesson plans.
I am able to scaffold children to accomplish a learning objective or outcome in my Activity
Planning Forms.
I am able to observe and monitor each childs progress related the curriculum goals.

I am able to implement good transitions from activity to activity, such as circle time to playtime.

I am able to incorporate math, language/literacy, and art in a weekly block plan to foster all of the
childrens domains.

I can implement time managements in all activities in the block plan.

ECERS (CHDV 160), Designs for Living and Learning component of the Teacher in Charge
Project).

I can evaluate a classroom based on the ECERS guidelines.

I can assess and area and know what needed to enhanced the childs growth in their domains.

I can provide good suggestions to help create a play based center such as adding assorted shapes,
sizes, and color block to enhance a child imagination or development in their domains.

**Growth: Please list how your knowledge and skills listed above, have grown as a result of your student
teaching experiences.
In having the knowledge of what the Activity Planning Form, Block Plan, and ECERS provide in a center, Im
able to use the skills I learned to plan a specific curriculum that provides objectives, individualization, and
appropriate developmentally learning experiences in my classroom. The Block Plan will be a guide for the
activities I provided in a timely manner for the children. Then the ECERS assess the classroom environment to
see what the class needs to provided growth in a child development with it supplies available and also that its a
safe place for the children to play.
**Beliefs: How has completing the above assignments and your student teaching influenced your beliefs about
designing/implementing/evaluating play-based curriculum?
I believe that through play children learn the world around them. In which they are able to identify and relate to
what the environment provides for them. In designing a play based center you have to take in consideration
what supplies and furniture is available for the children. Even though it seems like they are just playing they are
learning skills such as cooperation with others and social skills.
**Future Growth & Next Steps: Think about your future teaching, list three goals to help you improve
upon your existing knowledge and skills and your teaching.
I would implement the ECERS in my classroom to be aware of what the classroom or staff need to provide a
safe and enriched environment for the children. An example would be such as adding items, materials, or toys

needed to provide growth. Then I would incorporate culture diversity in a classroom by adding items that are
related to a variety of different cultures. Then for staff and teacher they needed to have the training and
education in working with children to provide safe and learning environment with their knowledge and skill. In
which I will be incorporating my skills and knowledge that Ive learned taking this courses and experience of
my teacher in charge.
I would take a class on safety and regulations that are needed to provide a safe environment for the children and
staff. I am aware of the regulation in Tittle 22, but would like additional knowledge and experience such as
participating in event for mass causality, so I would have experience and additional training in case of an
emergency. I will be extra prepared even though I am aware of how to deal with emergencies the extra
experiences will prepare me in the future for such emergencies.
I would also like to learn about other culture, so when Im taking care of other children of different ethnicities I
will be able to foster their own way of being in my classroom by incorporating in my curriculums and play
center areas.
Identify how you will achieve each of these three goals. Be specific. For instance, will you enroll in a
course? If so, what course? Will you read a book? What book?
I will achieve this goals by reading and learning more in-dept. Title 22 Regulations. I will be researching
the web and calling the licensing agencies on how am I am able to receive additional training to provide
an extra safe place for the children and staff that are in my classroom. I will go to the library and read
about a variety of different cultures to gain the understanding of culture lifestyle. I will also be going to
a variety of different restaurants to try new food, so Im able to understand and relate to the child when
they are talking about their food they eat at home.
