PROFESSIONAL
PROFILE

EDUCATION

Constructed multiple lesson plans using the State Core Curriculum. I am currently in the
process of learning and implementing the SIOP model into lesson plans and using those
th
lesson plans in my current 5 grade practicum classroom. I am dedicated in making sure
that I am adapting and modifying my teaching to all different needs that each student comes
with. I have had the opportunity to do many running records and DRA testing, and knowing
how and what to look for to best help the students gain adequate literacy skills. I am
extremely focused on teaching the whole child, being sensitive to not only academic needs,
but also other needs the students have that can and will affect their learning. I am in the
process of becoming ESL endorsed, and have gained a vast amount of knowledge in
knowing how to help our English language learners become successful and reach their full
potential. I have had the opportunity to conduct small group instruction on a daily basis in
helping Kindergarten through second grade students in literacy. I have learned and have
had the opportunity to implement classroom management skills to make the learning
environment for my students a place where they can learn and feel safe.
