Introduction
Whats for?
Li-ion batteries have been used as a main power supply
source for electronic consumer product

Whats the problem?

Liquid electrolytes used commonly in Li-ion batteries,
provide relatively high ion conductivity, however their
volatile fumes may lead to the violent explosion of a
battery
Whats the solution?
Gel polymer electrolytes as a combination of liquid and
polymer electrolytes seem to be an alternative

The Goal of Study

Comparing

Its used to confirm the removal of

solvents used in the course of the
membrane production

Determining of membrane
composition and degree of crystallinity
of polymer membranes

Determination of the
specific conductivity
for gel polymer
electrolytes

Results and Discussion

FT-IR spectra:
The measured spectra of individual
membrane confirm complete removal of
solvents

X-ray diffractogram:
There is no direct effect of used polymer
membrane preparation technique on the
value of degree of crystallinity

Results and Discussion

SEM

BEL (a) has a porous structure, GL (b) has a high

porosity, NA (c) and PW (d) have a very
homogeneous structure (no micropores)

Results and Discussion

Gel polymer electrolytes with GL membrane

has a highest liquid phase capacity and
specific conductance than others

CONCLUSION
The most optimal manufacturing method
for gel polymer electrolytes is GL
membrane that has a highest liquid phase
capacity and has a higher specific
conductance. GL membrane also has the
most porous structure.
