Technology Utilized

Welcome students
Discuss many different types of
transferring images/printmaking
Introduce project using mono-prints
Explain all of the different step done on
order to create a mono-print
-First they will design their print.
-Then they will trace it onto the
Plexiglas using markers or they can
trace it onto tracing paper flip it and
then trace it onto the Plexiglas.
-Then they will go wet their paper in
the water tray by the sink for 2 seconds
and pat it dry on the newsprint. (Point
out they dont want the paper to be too
wet or the colors will bleed, have an
example of this)
-Then they will bring the paper back
to their table and gently place it onto
the Plexiglas and rub to create the print.
Have students begin experimenting
with the process using the small pieces
of plexiglas
Once students are able to make a
successful print, have them draw in
their sketchbook to design their final
print.
Have students create multiple prints of
their final design, using different color
combinations
Clean up
Review

Student Actions/Expectations

Students will articulate the use of

printmaking and examples in art

Students will demonstrate

understanding of creating monoprints through practice

Students will generate ideas for a

design to create a larger final print

Review/Closure/CSU:
Have students share their print with their table and ask and answer questions:
What was the hardest part about creating a successful print?
How did you change what you did to make it look better?

How are Objective/Standards Assessed in this lesson?
