Domestic Violence Healing

Thesis: This is an actual attorneys office that publically announces their opinion on
domestic violence. Within this website they begin to describe the long-term effects on
individuals after domestic violence.
Annotation: The main points of this website to inform people about domestic
violence. They also want to help those who are already in a domestically violent
situation, and they also want the community on their side. The goal of this website is
to help victims make the first step in accepting and healing and also explain some of
the healing processes that can be used, it also explains the trauma that children can be
put through and how it effects them later in life. When discussing the children it
explains that one-third of the children who witness the domestic violence of their
mothers demonstrate behavioral and/or emotional problems, including psychosomatic
disorders, stuttering, anxiety and fears, sleep disruption, excessive crying and trouble
with school. This website highlights that it is important for the audience to know that
domestic abuse does not only effect the mother or victim but also the individuals who
are indirectly involved, or the children.
Question and point of view: The question that is answered in this source is, What
impact does domestic abuse have on an individual? which is question number two.
The point of view simplified is that most people who are abused never go back to
normal and most people get so depressed that they even lose their jobs. It also is
important for everyone to know that if children are involved they are affected more
than the mother, and it can cause many problems with these children later in life.

above. It accomplishes this by having a very straightforward point of view, and really
being an advocate for these people who have had such a traumatic thing happen to
them. The point of view this article takes is that everyone should be aware and
support domestic violence advocates and programs, and it is crucial to have resources
available to domestic violence victims. This source believes that having a liaison

Thesis: This source goes over the direct impact on females that domestic violence has
caused, such as emotional trauma, and explains what why most females who are
domestically abused, stay with their partner.
Annotation: Throughout this article it is describing why women stay while also
including other knowledge like what these victims deserve and what is being done
right now. They are continuing to find the right advocate for these victims and they
hope that the article will shed some light on domestic violence from this point of view
of physiologically why women stay. As in explained in the article, most women stay
because they do not want to break up their family, they cannot financially be on their
own, or they are threatened with death if they try to leave. The authors point of this
article is to hopefully give these women some insight on domestic violence and allow
them to make the right decision to leave their partner and start a new life.
Question and point of view: This source answers question number three, like stated
above. It answers this question by its sort of biased point of view, directly talking
about women of domestic violence, and explains what is being done and what should
be done to help these victims in the healing process and why women stay with the
partner, even in a domestically violent relationship. Most women end up staying in a
domestically violent relationship because they do not want to break up their family or
they are not financially stable without their partner.
