ACG Full Field Development - Phase 1 Pipelines

Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC)
ACG is the largest oil field in the Azerbaijan sector of the Caspian basin. Located
about 62 miles east of Baku, it is operated by BP on behalf of the Azerbaijan
International Operating Company (AIOC).
Operations at the ACG field started in November 1997 with the start-up of
production from the Chirag-1 platform (Early Oil Project). Central, West and East
Azeri complex were developed under Phases 1 and 2 and Deepwater Gunashli
portion was developed under Phase 3. McDermott utilized significant local
Azerbaijani infrastructure, including key marine support vessels provided by SOCARs
marine operations group, with local Azerbaijanis contributing more that 65% to the
project.
Installation: McDermott carried out offshore S-Lay installation and precommissioning of a 115-mile, 28-inch gas and 115-mile, 30-inch oil export
pipeline from the Central Azeri platform to Sangachal Bay landfall, plus a 5-mile
long landfall stub-section of the 30-inch ACG Phase 2 oil export pipeline at
Sangachal Bay. Trenching shore approaches and pipeline crossing was also carried
out, as well as upgrading the pipelay barge Isfrafil Huseynov and diving support
vessel Akademik Tofik Ismaylov.
