Analyzing Characters / Character Traits

7) Answer any questions students may have
8) Students must include at least 6 traits- they can use the ones on the board, or they can think of
other ones. Make sure the traits they use are based on what they think about themselves! They
should also type their name atleast 6 times so that it shows up large on their tagxedo.
9) Walk around and assist students
10) When students are done, print each tagxedo and hang them up around the classroom

Assessment: Grading of Tagxedo

1 point for each trait (up to 6= 6
points)
1 point for their name
Total points possible: 7 points

Differentiated Instruction

Cross Curricula Connections:

Special Education Students/ESL Students: I would differentiate the same for Special Education students

Tagxedo could be used in any subject area.

I could have them make a Tagxedo about
what we are talking about in Science,
Social studies or Math. It helps students
with vocabulary and understanding big
ideas.

and ESL students. When grading, I wont take away points for spelling errors. Also, if students cant type,
I would have them tell me which words to use and I would type it for them. If I had an ESL student that
didnt know a lot of English, I would allow them to use words from their language to make the Tagxedo.
Gifted and Talented students: Along with having them make a Tagxedo for themselves, I would challenge
them to make a tagxedo for their favorite character in a book, or a character in a book we have read as a
class

Use a variety of digital tools and media-rich resources to create projects (This is one tool for
students to use to meet this standard. They were able to use the computer and go on the
internet to get to Tagxedo.)
Use technology to illustrate and communicate original ideas related to curriculum content (In our
reading unit we have been working on analyzing characters and coming up with character traits.
This project was a way for students to prove to me that they know the difference between a trait

and feeling.)
Create multimedia products with support from teacher for the purpose of display, publication,
and/or performance (We were able to print students Tagxedo and hang them up around the
room to display)
