LEARNER TEACHERS PERSONAL EVALUATION
(This should be completed before a final grade is given. PSTs should reflect on their learning from this
particular experience).
My 8 week placement at Christian College has been an extremely valuable experience, where I
feel I have developed more confidence and strategies within my planning, delivery, assessment
and time management. I have been fortunate to have Paul and Deb as my mentors, where they
have allowed me to take full reigns over the classes I have taught. This has allowed me to create
and trial out different approaches within my lessons, develop assessments and learn from my
weaknesses and strengths along the way. I have welcomed their assistance or extended
knowledge within areas that I may feel needs further clarification for the students. In turn this
has further developed my understanding of concepts and how to explain them to the students.
When I reflect on my teaching experiences from my first placement compared to this final one, I
can honestly say that I feel confident and ready to teach next year. I am well organised and able
to adapt my lesson and think on my feet, whereas within my initial years of my degree this did
not come as naturally. I feel I need to continue to improve my classroom management strategies,
however I noticed an improvement from week 1 in comparison to week 9, which I feel was the
result of the rapport you build with your students.

MENTOR TEACHERS GENERAL EVALUATION

Overall comments on learner teachers progress and learning during the schools experience.
Please comment on strengths and areas for improvement.
Nikita has taught students from Year 5 through to Year 9 various theoretical and
practical lessons in Physical Education over the past 8 weeks. She has also taught in
the Science faculty and has been able to manage her workload effectively, while also
engaging in many other aspects of the College such as coaching sport teams,
attending whole school and faculty meetings, attending parent teacher interviews, and
also attending the Colleges Elective Expo evening, where she was able to engage and
explain the content of a Year 9 elective to parents.
I have been very impressed with Nikitas professionalism, maturity, and confidence in
her teaching ability over the past 8 weeks. I have been confident in giving Nikita
freedom to take charge of lessons and to plan and implement her teaching for them.
Her manner in class is always supportive and she has faced many challenging
students whom she has been able to handle in a professional manner, following whole
school policies of behaviour management when necessary.
Nikita has been able to build positive working relationships with all of her students and
has been able to do this at all year levels she has taught. She has adapted her teaching
style to the various maturity levels of the students she has taught and set high levels
of achievement and expectations of behaviour.
I would highly recommend Nikita for a teaching position next year as she will be an
asset for any school that appoints her.
Sincerely,
Paul Breguet
