Career Research Guide Worksheet

Make sure you have completed the career exploration and have a good idea of the career that interests you!

Use point form or sentences. Make sure it is in our OWN words! Do not copy from the
Internet.
Your job title (be specific): Adventure Therapist
Job overview/What they do (Provide a paragraph description of the job. What would a typical day on the job look like?):
Adventure Therapists find other more physical ways to help their patients. This includes problem solving activities,
climbing walls, psychodrama and family sculpture and equine facilitated psychotherapy. Most of these activities will
take place indoors or in a covered arena, but that depends on the patient. Activities are usually done in groups as well.

Working conditions (Hours you can expect to work? Risk of injuries? Time of day/time of year? Indoors/outdoors?
Clothing required? Etc):
Hours are all over the place, and injuries just depend on the patients and how well they cooperate. Work is all year
round in most cases, and it is usually indoors. Standard clothing is required, whatever you are comfortable in.

Salary (what wage can you expect to earn?):

Average salary is $69,000
Future outlook (will this job be in demand in the future? Why/why not?):
There will continuously be job openings as there are not very many of these specific counselors and it is an effective
method of therapy.
