Prayer Terms:
Obligatory Terms:
Validity conditions:
Time:
For each prayer of the five there is a specific time of the day. Each
prayer must be done at this specific period of time. Prayer times
are based on the suns appearance on the sky, so it slightly changes
every one or two days about a minute, less or more. In fact, the
4
time prayers in each country and each season of the year is
different.
What is the specific time for each prayer?
Chapter1
Qibla:
Qibla means the direction that prayers pray toward. In Islam, a
cube building believed to be built by Abraham, located in Mecca,
called Kaaba is the Qibla. All Muslim all over the world must pray
toward Kaaba in Mecca. Because the Earth is a big, spherical, and
4
dented from the north and south, the direction of Qibla is the
direction of the shortest way toward Mecca. As a result, it is
different from one place to another. For example, if you are in
Bahrain you should pray toward the west, if you are in Europe, you
pray toward eastern south, while here in Texas it is 44 to the north.
See as shown in figure 1.1
Finding the timing of the prayers and the direction of Qebla is
difficult for most people. However, today there are so many
inventions that provide us these information at any time. For
instance, www.islamicfinder.org provide you all prayer timing all
over the world and can also remind you on time.
Prayer Area:
Three main things must be provided in the area of the prayer.
First, the place of the prayer must be licit.
Second, it must be clean.
Chapter1
Third, males must pray in the front, and males must pray in the
back
Clothes:
First, it must be licit and clean
Second, it must not be made of animals.
Third, Modesty
Women must cover most of her body while praying except the
face, hands, and feet
Men must cover only their private parts. They are not allowed to
wear any kind of silk, gold, and silver.
Physical Purity
Wudu:
Wudu is another word for the Islamic Ablution. This process is
prior to the prayer is a very important process. Its correctness
affect the correctness of the prayer.
