Philosophy: (Name of School) is dedicated to teaching the students the education they
deserve. While education is our first priority, the students will become the best they can be
by learning how to maximize his/her potential, become a contributing member of our
society, maintain a commitment to lifelong learning, become resourceful learners, become
critical thinkers, learn and respect individuals differences and gain a strong sense of
personal and social responsibility. The children here at (Name of School) will achieve this
knowledge by following the findings of John Dewey and Jean Piaget. Students learn best
when they are actively involved with their own education, and when it is based on life
experiences. The students will learn a variety of life skills and resources while attending
(Name of School), making them a well-rounded individual.
Why did we chose this?
+We chose this philosophy because it shows that the children will learn the most they can
and become the best people they can be while attending our school.
How will this look in our school?
+This will be shown throughout every classroom because the activities and learning going
on will reflect the philosophy. It will also be shown by the teachers who will take this into
account while teaching the students to the best of their ability.
Type of school: Public
Why did we chose this?
+Public schools get funding from numerous places and its more democratic than the other
types of schools
Advantages and Disadvantages:
+Advantages: Governmental funding, funding from taxes, no tuition costs/fees are smaller,
no uniforms, no religion, anyone can go to a public school, teachers have to be certified
-Disadvantages: Not independent, no scholarships given to students

prepare for middle school and become well rounded children.

+ Because it is still a public school. It also gives the teachers a better understanding of
where the kids are academically and can make changes to improve any weak subjects
How is the physical environment designed?
+Green slide, spacious classrooms, Gym, Playground, theatre
Why?
+A green slide is fun and gender neutral so instead of taking the stairs, children have the
option to slide down the green slide just to put a spin on the school day. Spacious
classrooms will give children more room to move around. It will also give the school more
room to have places to store the abundance of technology.
How is the school governed?
+The state and community
Who are the stakeholders and why?
+The stakeholders would be the taxpayers because they are responsible for part of the
funding we receive therefore they have a say, to a certain extent, as to what goes on in our
school and what we use their money for.

+ The school will receive funding from the government and from taxes
