Correlate ELA/ELD Standards

1-The ELD/ELA Focus Standards that are addressed as follows:

Write simple compositions such as descriptions and compare/contrast that have a main idea and
some detail. Students will individually complete main idea/details graphic organizer and write
brief articles as newsletter, self-edit with evidence of revision, complete second draft.
Write persuasive and expository compositions that include a clear thesis, describe organized
points of support, and address a counter-argument .Students will individually complete main
idea/details graphic organizer and draft an article. Revise writing for proper use of final
punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Trios peered it group article, complete second draft.
Trios review their rated products with opportunity for teacher clarification/re-teaching.
As the teacher is using the strategy of reinforcing writing process; monitoring activity and
Scaffolding the students when necessary, the standards are addressed according to the plan. I
think some of the standards are addressed multiple times as students are also involved in the in
class assessment as they edit the peer work.
2- In the sample lesson plan, the CELDT levels that are addressed are beginning, early
intermediate, and advanced level.
3- In the sample lesson plan covered following domains:
Listening and Speaking (LS): Students take part in the discussions orally.
Reading Comprehension (RC): Students work in small groups. They read and categorize kinds
of articles in class/school/public newspapers.
Writing Strategies and Application (WSA) and (WC) Writing Conventions: As it is
similarly stated in the ELD Focus standard, the sample lesson plan promotes the writing.
According to the plan, students will have multiple writing assignments. As students are expected
to complete, compare/contrast graphic organizer, WSA domain will be covered.
4- Two of the ELA standards that correlate to ELD Standards in this lesson:

sentences and transitions.
ii. Grades 68: Writing Strategies & Applications/ Cluster 5/ Beginning
