Prior Knowledge: Students will be reviewing all of previous lessons on Wildlife Rescue and will be
connecting to real life experiences and knowledge therefore should be mainly a review
Lesson Beginning: The teacher will review previous days work on suffixes as well as the vocabulary
students still find difficulty with comprehending
Instructional Plan:

1. The teacher will review suffixes and vocabulary that the students are having difficulty
comprehending
2. The teacher will assign a topic card to the students and the students will write a short essay on
their topic
3. The students will then share their writing piece (voluntarily) and the students will discuss their
opinions on the topic and give ideas of what they would do
4. The teacher will discuss with the students what they learned from the book, key facts as well as
review for the following days quiz
Differentiation:
Students are grouped into reading groups according to their reading level. Will be given
appropriate work and leveled book based on their level.
Questions:

How can we help injured wildlife? Who do we always need to get in order to help us?
What is the process the injured wildlife go through in order to be in wild again?
What types of injuries to wild animals face? What about specific to our area?

Classroom Management: The teacher will ensure that students are respectively listening and completing
the activities. Students will follow classroom rules during activity. If classroom gets too rowdy the
teacher will use the chime to gain their attention and bring them back. Students will raise hands or use
white boards when answering to ensure students are not calling out.
Transitions: The teacher will use the responsive classroom method of the chime to gain students
attention.
Closure: To close the lesson the teacher will ask the students the questions listed above. The teacher will
thank the students for their attentiveness and respect and tell them the lesson is complete.
