Successfully reduced/ limited student behavioral issues by outlining classroom expectations, via classroom
discussions, at the beginning of each practicum experience
Often resolved behavioral issues by asking students why questions, in regards to their actions, diffusing
hostile situations, by forcing students to contemplate on their behavior
Consistently included students opinions/ ideas when establishing the classroom standards and expectations,
empowering students and making them feel responsible, influential, and involved in creating their learning

Adapted lesson plans/ assignments in order to facilitate student creativity and independence, motivating

Worked collaboratively with other student teachers, during practicum, in order to run Daily Physical Activity
(DPA), Christmas work shops, and Peer-to-peer student reading, for the entire school (Brechin Elementary)
Coached and co-coached volleyball and football, educating students on the basic rules and skills, as well as
teamwork and cooperation
Experience coordinating after school and extracurricular activities for student athletes: play days,
tournaments, and away games
Gained experience communicating with parents during teacher parent night and after school meetings
