The objective of evaluate the establishment of the forage under different dosages and patterns of
limestone. The experiment was conducted in Federal University of the State of Acre, in the city of
Cruzeiro do Sul. The experiment was carried out from December 2013 up to February 2014. The
climate is humid tropical Af with rains well distributed throughout the year yet almost absent during
the dry season. The altitude is at 170 meters and medium annual precipitation at 2074 millimeters.
The ground of the experimental areas is classified as Agriloso Yellow Dystrophic without evidence
of reduction. The ground presents pH in CaC12 =4.2. The evaluations of the plantation of the forage
at its different heights were conducted at 42, 63 & 100 days of the vegetation. The experimental
alignments, which were used, are blocks encased with five (5) treatments conducted three (3) times.
Parcels (dividers) of 3x3 meters constructed by Brachiaria hybrid cv. Mulato II under different
treatments of limestone filler (0, 0.5, 1, 2, & 4 t.ha-1). The tested forms were an application of the
limestone in the surface ground at a depth of 20 cm. The results between the doses of limestone used
did not present difference in the heights of the pasture in the different cycle days of (45, 102 & 123
cm) as did with the availability of forage (2767, 6887 & 7168 kg of DM.ha-1) when the limestone
was applied on the surface and when incorporated at measurements of (47, 97 & 151 cm) and
availability of forage (3020, 7307, & 6918 kg of DM.ha-1) they did not display differences. We can
verify that the doses of limestone and the patterns of application did not influence the performance of
forage.
