Celebrating
the Gift of Persons
this Christmas
Message
Message
Ego sum Via, Veritas, et Vita I am the Way, the Truth and the Life (Jn. 14:6). These three Via, Veritas, et Vita are
inseparable in Christ.
Christ is the road or the way that we must travel all the time the way of God the Father, the way to the Holy Spirit, the
way to our fellowmen, the way to one another, the way to sanctity and spirituality.
Christ is the Truth that we must study and learn chapter by chapter. He will open to us
the truth about Himself, about our fellowmen, about God, about ourselves. He will also open
to us our ignorance as we confess Lord, open my mind and my heart that I may know You
more deeply, love You more ardently and follow You more closely.
Christ is the Life, our Life. That is why we are honored with the name Christian. It is an
act of faith to see the Face of Christ in one another. Did he not say, Whatever you do to one
another, you do unto me?
Christmas the most wonderful time of the year in many places around the world. It is a time of rejoicing and
thanksgiving for all the graces the good Lord has bestowed on us.
However, in some places of the world there are also people suffering. Their celebration of Christmas may not be as
merry and joyful. Notwithstanding, the more we have, the more reason we have to celebrate it. It is a good reminder for
all of us that in every human life situation and condition, God is with us and truly, we need God! It is and will always be
an invitation for all of us to make of our heart and family the place of Nativity of our Lord Jesus.
For the new love of my heart, the Jareos, it is my great desire and my prayer that your
heart and family be filled with the gift of Christmas and so make ourselves a true gift to
others and to our Parish.
A joyful and a faith-filled Christmas to one and all!

Isa ka lapsag. apang, Dios man nga Labing Makagagahom; Dios Sia, apang karon, isa man Sia sa aton.
Ang Anak sang Dios nangin anak sang tawo agod nga kita man mangin anak sang Dios (San Juan Crisostomo).

I feel very proud of our present generation because I, for one, had the privilege of having personally seen two living Saints,
St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta and St. Pope John Paul II. I saw St. Mother Theresa in India and the latter, when he visited us here
in Jaro, Iloilo City.
Great and edifying though these be, seeing the great saints is nothing compared to our holy priests daily personal
encounter with God at Holy Mass, holding God in their hands.
Christmas time amidst great calamities is an encounter with our Lord which we eagerly await. Are we prepared?
I am afraid to ask God, Why do You have to create pain and hurt? Why not all laughter and cheer? Why do we have to cry?
Why not all smiles painted on our faces? My brother sent me an answer, He held my hand and said, My child, You would not
have time to thank Me when you are always happy. Sometimes, I let you experience pain and sadness
for you to recognize Me. Remember, whatever happens, everything has a purpose. I always give a
rainbow after the rain.
Wishing you all a Blessed and Merry Christmas

or for the help we have received from others; and, most especially,
many of us fail thank our Creator for the many things we receive
from Him most especially our life, our health, and the many other
things He is giving us day after day after day.
We say thank you to God for giving us another new day in our
lives, this when we wake up each morning; we say thank you for
our good nights rest.
We also say thank you in advance for His guidance and
protection; for His support, His kindness, and His mercy.
We should give thanks for all the favors granted, and after
going to a particular place, whether near or far, we should never
have to forget to say thank you for a safe and fruitful journey.
We give thanks to the Lord for people close to us and for the
fond memories that we have experienced and will continue to
experience in our daily lives.
We borrowed some lines from Psalm 136 that state:
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good
Give thanks to the God of gods
Give thanks to the Lord of lords.
He alone does great marvels
In wisdom He made the heavens
He set the earth upon the waters,
He made the great lights, the sun to rule over the day;
The moon and stars to rule the night,
Give thanks to the God of heaven,
His kindness endures forever.
These passages say it all. But most of all, we should thank
God the Father this Christmas for giving us Jesus Christ Who Is
our Savior, and Who, for the love of us, died on the Cross to save
us from our sins. We thank God, the Son, for giving us hope and
opportunity to join Him in Paradise at the end of time when He
comes again in glory and majesty.

What is Christmas?
Anna Shiela A. Moreno
Christmas is here,
A Holy Child in a cave was born
Where animals abode
in a manager He beds
Wrapped in a swaddling clothes He worn.
Shepherds paid visit from the fields
Hossana in the Highest they yield
Wise men from the East
Brought gold, frankincense and myrrh as gifts.
Hail to Mary, as she said Yes
To the calling of Gods messenger
Jesus in her womb she hold dear
Hail to Joseph who stood as protector
Of the Holy Child and His blessed mother
From Bethlehem to Egypt they flee.
Christmastime has many meanings
a time of thanksgiving and reflecting
A time of rejoicing for the Saviors coming
With a joyful heart we are singing.
Christmas calls us to reflect
The story of salvation God has sent
To all of us to free from sin
And live our life in Heaven till eternity.
Calling us to forgive
And free our hearts from grief
This calls us to humility
An offering of gratefulness
to the graces we received each day.
A day to renew our faith
Believing Gods love is bigger than failures we made
That in darkness He is our Light
He is the Truth, the Word and the Life.
Let gratefulness reign our hearts
Our Lord is here to give us a new start
Let us pray with humility and sincerity
For our Lord Jesus is here with us to stay.
