Dear Parents,

SECOND
GRADE
NEWS

I cannot believe we will be starting the third nine

weeks of school when we return. This newsletter pertains
to our week of January 6, 2015 studies. Please continue to
practice introduced addition and subtraction facts at home
with your child. We are also excited about starting a new
science lesson focusing on physical and chemical changes.
At this point in second grade, we are expecting a
more independent effort from all students. While we will
still model and teach new skills, we are expecting them to
have the independent work study skills at this point in the
year to be able to read and follow directions, check
through their work, problem solve, and work well in group
settings. We appreciate your support in checking their
binders daily for behavior and reinforcing classroom rules
and discussing your childs behavior with him/her at home.
As always, if you have questions or concerns, please
do not hesitate to call or write. We are here for you!
