Em 1898, os Estados Unidos anexaram ao seu territrio as ilhas do
Hava. A entrada dos americanos na Segunda Guerra Mundial foi
precipitada pelo ataque surpresa dos japoneses s instalaes militares
americanas em Pearl Harbor, perto de Honolulu, a capital do Hava.
