South Jordan Voting

Newsletter
2014

First:
The first thing that needs to be
discussed is that we need to get out
and vote. Come election time, not
nearly enough of the population is
getting out and voting. This means
that not all of the people are being
represented, and our government
isnt accurately observing the needs
of the people, so get out there and
vote!

In this newsletter we will be

discussing how to be
informed for the upcoming
elections in November.
While this is not a
presidential election year, it
is still important to do our
civic duty and vote.
Throughout this newsletter,
we will be figuring out how
we can rationally elect our
leaders!

What to Look For in a Candidate

When you are going to vote, you have to
make a decision on which candidate you
wish to vote for. To do this, you need
information regarding the candidates up
for election. These can be found in many
places, such as said candidates website.
It is always good to be informed on what
you are voting for.
Now that we know some
information on where to find
information on a candidate, what next?
We need to know what to look for. This
is all dependent on who you are. You
want to find somebody to vote for who
you think will do the job the best. When
voting, it is good to try and take things
such as how tall someone is, or what
sports teams they like out of it as much
as possible. This will allow for greater
opportunity for the best candidates to
get elected, and not necessarily the one
with the greatest charisma.

What to Look For Cont.

So what would constitute a
candidate who will do the best
job? That is really up to you, the
voter. You should look for
someone who has what you
believe to be sound political
values on issues you care about.
For example, if you really care
about the rights of gun owners,
you should look for a candidate
that supports guns.
Of course, multiple issues
should be taken into account
when deciding. Be sure to look at
all of a candidate when figuring
out who to support. Are they
honest? Do they have a good
work ethic? How well do they
work with others? These are all
good questions to ask.

It is always a good decision to talk about your

vote and political opinions with others. Your
friends and associates can give you insights into
opinions and ideas you hadnt thought of before,
and you can do the same to them. Just like in
politics, multiple viewpoints are better than only
one.
